Tricky Mink 3D Lashes

I am super excited to share my review of a makeup related product on my blog today. Jazmine from Tricky Hair was kind enough to send me a pair of their new gorgeous 3D Mink lashes to try and review on my blog for my followers! If you aren’t familiar with the company, Tricky Hair sells clip in hair extensions and 3D Mink Eye Lashes. Visit them at Tricky Hair Extensions.

When these arrived to my door, I instantly fell in love and I didn’t even open the box. The lashes come in this gorgeously designed, sturdy box with a magnetic snap closure so it is perfect for storing your lashes safely and cleanly when you aren’t wearing them.

The lashes themselves are absolutely stunning. They are extremely high quality lashes and as long as you take care of them, these can be worn up to 20-25 times!! These are not your regular drugstore lashes which can lose their shape rather quickly and can only be worn a maximum of 5 times if you are lucky!

This particular pair would be absolutely stunning for a date night, night out with your girlfriends, or even for a photoshoot. They are flirty, dramatic and the perfect little addition you need to your makeup look to make your eyes pop!

I wore mine with a nude matte eye, and bold fall lip colour (Tarte “Hangry” in case you are wondering). They are extremely comfortable and didn't irritate my eyes whatsoever!

Tricky lashes are brand new so they aren’t for sale yet but they will be very soon! Mink lashes usually run for a little more expensive than normal synthetic lashes but remember how much use you get out of them. Do the math – say 1 pair is $30 and you wear them 25 times, that’s less than a dollar per wear!!

I hope you enjoyed my lash review! Thanks so much for reading!

Much Love,
April

Warby Parker Fall Collection

It is with great pleasure to introduce and feature Warby Parker’s new Fall collection on my blog today - which you can check out here! For me, glasses are necessary at work and while driving but I also frequently use them as a fashion accessory. I have a few pairs of glasses that I rotate and match with whatever I’m wearing. So if I’m casual, I’ll wear a pair of “Wayfair” style black rims and if I’m dressing up I like to wear my cat eye or coloured frames…just as an example.

Warby Parker began because they wanted to offer designer eyewear at affordable prices. Even with insurance, frames alone can cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars without the prescription. In today’s world, if you have an employer who offers reasonable insurance to cover some of the cost, you should consider yourself very lucky! Warby Parker believes that buying glasses should be easy and fun, happy and good looking, and with money in your pocket. And want to know the best part about the company? They partner with nonprofits like Vision Spring - so every pair of glasses you buy, a pair is distributed to someone in need. That alone right there is every reason you need to buy a pair of glasses from this company! I have numerous pairs of TOMS because they do the same thing and I like to give whenever and wherever I can.

The fall collection can be described in two words: Details Matter. This season’s frames take inspiration from the playful constructions and visual trickery of Surrealist artists. In this collection you will find subtle inflections, two-toned colourways, 24-karat gold accents, and rich autumn inspired hues. There’s something for everyone’s taste, and every pair will look amazing with those cozy knit sweaters and dark fall lip and nail colours you have on your vanity just waiting to break out for the cooler days!

Well lets get right to pictures of the collection shall we?

As you can see from the pictures, the frames from this collection are very unique and yet modern. Each pair of glasses have a wide range of colour selections to suit certain skin tones and hair colours so you can customize your favorite frames just for you! My favorite pair are the "Chelsea" - I love the style and they are definitely a pair of glasses that are multi function if you are like me and pair them with your outfit. I picture the "Chelsea" with a gorgeous, warm chunky knit sweater, leggings, boots, high top knot, beautifully winged liquid eyeliner and defined brows (I always do a liner and strong brows when I wear my glasses so they stand out), and a dark berry fall lip colour - try one of my personal favorites: MAC "Hang Up". Now you got yourself a sophisticated and contemporary fall outfit!

If you like what you see, head on over to Warby Parker's website and pick out your favorite pair (or two...since the price is right you might as well) and treat yourself to affordable, stylish glasses for the cold weather that is quickly approaching. Remember, for every pair bought, a pair is given to a person in need so shop away!

Affordable Face Primer!

Are you ready for a face primer that is super affordable, available at your local drug or grocery store, and has 3 times more product in the bottle than makeup brands face primers?

Nivea Men's Aftershave Balm

Wait, what??

This is for real! First of all I just give credit where credit is due. I have been watching the Youtuber Nikkie Tutorials for about 3 years now and (as far as I know) she's the one who started this crazy (and amazing) phenomenon. If I remember the story correctly, she forgot her primer or moisturizer and went to her boyfriends products to see if she could find something to hold her over. Throughout the day, she noticed it was holding onto her foundation like a dream. When she showed it in her monthly favourites video I had to try it to see what the hype was and it immediately became my holy grail!

So what makes this product comparable to a primer you would get at Sephora? Well, one of the first ingredients listed on the bottle is glycerine which leaves a mild tacky finish - perfect for foundation to adhere to.

There are a few added bonuses to this product. The product itself has an instant cooling sensation and if you are like me and suffer from constantly being too warm, this is such a treat! It also acts as a moisturizer so if you feel up for it, you can use it for both moisturizing and priming (yay for skipping a step in your morning routine). Nivea website claims that it alleviates redness (which makes sense, because this IS something men put on their face after they shave) so if you have any mild discolouration it's going to help with that as well!

Some people call this a downfall of the product but I secretly enjoy the scent. It's a men's product so of course it's going to smell like men's aftershave. But the scent does fade out pretty quickly so you won't spend your day smelling like a man. If you are afraid of/or sensitive to scents you may want to use this with caution. I am not scent sensitive but I do have extremely sensitive/finicky oily skin and I have had absolutely no issues with the "sensitive skin" version of this product.

The consistency silky, thin, and blends out very nicely. With all primers, you must let this set into the skin for a bit before you continue with your makeup routine. So keep yourself occupied for a minute or two and let it dry for best results!

Now let's talk about that price tag. Most places sell this at under $10 a bottle which is a total steal for 100ml of product. Primers that makeup lines sell are going to be anywhere from $10 - $50 or more for a third of the bottle.

I have been using this for almost a year now and It is hands down one product I will always keep on my makeup table. People always ask for product recommendations and I praise this to the clouds every time. Give it a try...maybe this will be a holy grail of yours too!!
