Nails of the Week: Strawberries & Chocolate

This week's nails were inspired by a design I saw here.  I am by no means trying to claim this design as my own. I googled this design and I know that many people have done various different versions of it. I know there is a lot of "you copied (insert blogger/youtuber here)'s design" going around so I just feel the need to put a disclaimer here. I do this for fun on myself only because I enjoy it and want to share it with other people. If you put things online to share, someone is guaranteed going to "steal it". I'm putting it up here because I want you to be inspired and maybe try something like this for yourself. There's a lot of anger and negativity going around in the beauty community and I want no part in it.

Leopard print nails - matte edition!

There's finally an iPhone app for blogger! So here's an blog update from my phone :)

Today I finally picked up a matte topcoat when I was at the grocery store. I've been wanting it for ages but was sold out every time I checked. Today there was a bottle placed behind 2 different shades of polish just waiting for me! I'm going to stock up on this product when I can because the bottle is fairly small and I know I'm going to use it a lot! The brand is "Joe" and I got it at Dominion (local grocery store here in Newfoundland, Canada...I think is Loblaws on the mainland).

When I got home I put it on my newly manicured leopard print nails and I love the result! I also picked up a wet and wild party of five glitter which I'm super excited about.

Here's a picture of my nails with the matte top coat. Shortly after I took that pic I realized I had a cracked nail :(. I had to file down my nails a little bit because i am very particular about all my nails being the same length! They are still fairly long but I may keep this length as I am back to work at my other job that requires a lot of typing and using my hands.

Time to catch some zzz's before work tomorrow. Night y'all :)

How To: Tidy up your nails after an at-home manicure!

Since getting into nail art, I am always surfing the web for nail art ideas and I always wonder how people get their manicures so perfect. No matter how careful I am, I always get nail polish on the skin around my nails. Normally, I wash my hands and pick it off with my nails but that sometimes leads to corners chipped on my brand new manicure!

Leopard Print Nails!

I usually do my weekly mani on Sundays but when I saw leopard print nails after watching a Youtube video by Cutepolish, I couldn't wait to try it. I ran out and bought the supplies today and I am beyond pleased with the result! My right hand ended up a little better than my left - on my right hand I did the black lines around the brown spots a little more squiggly than my left and it looks way more natural. Either way I'm a huge fan of these I'll be wearing these nails a LOT! Here's what I used:

As always, I used OPI's Nail Envy as a treatment and basecoat.

I started with 3 coats of OPI's Samoan Sand. I LOVED this polish on its own for perfect nude nails. Its a bit sheer and required 3 coats to be opaque but its a great polish that I highly recommend!
Next I dotted random spots all over my nails with OPI's "Suzy Loves Cowboys" from the Texas Collection. The more random and messy the better. I just used a tiny bit of polish on the tip of the brush and made spots with that. Just make sure there isn't a lot of nail polish on your brush but just enough to paint with
Finally, I went around the brown spots outlining randomly with a black nail art pen. I used "Cina Nail Creations" Nail Art Pen in Black. I LOVE this product...its just like using a marker. Picked it up at Sally's Beauty Supply

I finished off with my usual Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

And here's the result!

 Until next time... :)

Much Love

Nails Of The Week: Gradient Pink

Finally getting to post my nails of the week. I picked up OPI's "I Lily Love You" from the Nice Stems collection and was instantly inspired to do something pink. I chose a light pink, fading into a hot pink and the "I Lily Love You" fading into the tips. I wasn't sure it if it would work but I really love it!!

Matte Nails with Shiny Tips

My good friend Mel posted a link on my Facebook wall earlier this week of some pretty amazing nails that I immediately had to recreate! Here is the link she sent me:
